fpl gameweek 6 price change predictions

FPL Price Predictions - Gameweek 6 Risers and Fallers

It was an action-packed gameweek 6, between all the goals and red cards and whatnot.

We had several standout performances (e.g. Gravenberch)… and several awful, awful ‘performances’ (*cough Robert Sanchez cough*).

Who’s rising, who’s falling, and should you buy them in either case? Let’s find out together, as we look at FPL price change predictions for Gameweek 6.

FPL Price Risers Predicted

Let’s start off positive, and look at the likely FPL price rises for Gameweek 6.

Should you jump on board, before the cost shoots up? Let’s investigate!

Bruno Fernandes

Bruno got his second goal in three matches, against Chelsea. Even as his team has struggled, I think he’s actually played pretty well (stop me if you’ve heard that one before).

He got 10pts in GW5, to go with his 10 in GW 3, although he has blanked in the other three games.

Should You Buy?

I wouldn’t read too much into this week’s game.

Chelsea were down to 10 men so early, and Man U still couldn’t put them away. The attack continues to look pretty lacklustre.

That said, I don’t mind it.

We’ve got so few good midfielders this year. His underlying stats have also been good (0.75 xGI/game), and he did have a rare penalty miss against Fulham. He also has Brentford and Sunderland back to back now.

Gravenberch

Gravenberch was brilliant against Everton. He scored a beautiful goal, and his pass for the assist to Ekitike was just as impressive.

Should You Buy?

No. I wouldn’t.

He’s a brilliant real-life player, but he’s unlikely to continue this goalscoring level. He got one goal in his previous two seasons at Liverpool.

He’s also not getting many defensive contributions. He got 14 against Everton, but that was his most by far, and he hasn’t actually got any DC points yet.

Finally, there are just other mids I like more around that 5.5 price point – Caicedo, Anthony, Anderson, and even Xhaka.

Guehi

Guehi didn’t clean this week, but he did get an assist. He’s now returned in four of his five games, with Forest being his only blank.

Should You Buy?

Yes. I think he’s an excellent option.

Palace have only conceded two goals in five games, and look extremely solid.

These were his first DC points of the season, but there’s potential for more there. And, between that and the clean sheet potential, he’s one of my favourite FPL defenders right now.

Anthony

Anthony scored yet again. He’s already up to three goals, plus one assist.

This is supported by solid underlying stats too – a 0.53 xGI/90, with a particularly appealing 0.42 xG/90.

Should You Buy?

He’s right at the top of that 5.5 price bracket, for me.

On the one hand, I’d hesitate to buy him right now because of the fixtures. He has City away this week, and Villa away straight after.

We saw him struggle in the Liverpool game, the last time Burnley parked the bus. He worked hard, but just had no support. I’d expect something similar against City. h

Ultimately, I’d hold off, for now.

Grealish

The FPL transfers are still piling up for Grealish, despite blanking against Liverpool.

It’s not hard to see why. He looks rejuvenated, and – before that game – looked decent in a tough fixture against a defensive Villa, and got four assists in two games before that.

Should You Buy?

He’s starting to get a bit expensive. I liked him at 6.5, but now that he’s creeping up towards 7.0 I’d think twice.

He’s got a great fixture this week, home to West Ham. After that though, he plays Palace, City, and Spurs.

That said, there aren’t many other good options at this price point. With midfielders being weak this year, I still like him for now.

Doku

He didn’t actually return against Arsenal, but Doku played brilliantly.

That’s his second good performance in a row, after he set up two goals against Man U in GW 4.

Should You Buy?

I wouldn’t. I know he’s playing well, but historically… he’s always looked good, and failed to actually deliver the returns we’re hoping for.

There’s also just so many wingers and forwards at City.

He started week 1, was benched in weeks 2 and 3, has started again in weeks 4 and 5. Basically, you’ve got no idea if he’s actually nailed now, or if he’ll be riding again next week.

I wouldn’t get involved.

FPL Price Fallers Predicted

Well, that’s quite enough positivity for now. Time to turn to the other end of the spectrum, and make some predictions on the likely price fallers in FPL ahead of Gameweek 6.

Sanchez

What a nightmare. Sanchez managed to screw over viewers and FPL owners in GW 5, getting himself stupidly sent off after only 4 minutes.

For those poor owners, this meant the rarely seen -3pts.

Thanks for nothing, Robert!

Should You Sell?

No.

He’ll actually be back again next gameweek, since he’ll serve his suspension in the League Cup during the midweek games.

Chelsea’s fixtures aren’t great, with Brighton and Liverpool coming up. They’ve looked solid defensively though, have easier games after that, and you shouldn’t transfer a keeper unless you really have to.

Wirtz

Wirtz was benched against Everton, having started the midweek Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.

He did come on for the last half hour… but achieved exactly nothing.

Should You Sell?

Yes. I’d have sold him already.

His price is dropping like a stone, he’s clearly going to be rotated as the fixtures get congested, and he hasn’t got a single return yet.

There are much better options, around his price or cheaper.

I’d save money and go for Semenyo or a 6.5-7.0, like Grealish. If you want to upgrade though, just get Bruno.

Salah

Another game. Another underwhelming performance. Another return.

Being a Salah owner is… confusing right now.

Should You Sell?

As a Salah owner, I personally am not selling.

He’s looked pretty rubbish, the system/new players aren’t suiting him, and he’s hardly even shooting.

He has also returned in four of his five games so far.

We spend all the money on Salah for two things: explosive returns, and consistency.

We’re getting the consistency right now. I have to believe the bigger returns will come. He might not score 29 goals again this year, but he’s not going to trudge his way to 10 goals either.

Watkins

Following the shocking draw against Sunderland, Watkins has now scored exactly 2pts in each of his first five games.

Hey – at least he’s consistent.

Should You Sell?

Yes. One million percent yes.

Maybe you were still holding him for Sunderland, as I was for Rogers.
Well, we’ve seen enough. Villa are awful right now. They’ve got one goal in five games.

Time to move on.

Wood

Yep – Wood blanked again.

He scored two goals in his opening fixture, against Brentford. Since then, he’s blanked four games in a row. That includes games against Burnley and West Ham.

Eesh.

Should You Sell?

No. You can’t before he plays Sunderland at home.

Trust me – as a Wood owner myself, I’ve tried. My hand has offered over that Transfer button.

But we can’t.

Give him one more game, then bin him when he plays Newcastle, Chelsea, and Bournemouth back to back. No thanks.

Rogers

Ah, speaking of Villa.

Technically, he’s got 2 more points than Watkins.

That’s entirely from his two clean sheet points, however. He has no actual returns, and has an awful 0.14 xGI/90.

Should You Sell?

Yes. Enough is enough.

He’s one of the best 10’s in the league, and Emery has shoved him out on the left wing. It’s not working, and there are no signs it’s going to change.

There are plenty of better, cheaper midfielders out there. I’d much rather have Anthony than Rogers right now, and save 1.5 in the equation.

Final Thoughts

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little look at FPL price predictions for Gameweek 6.

As always, you should still try not to make early transfers. We’ve got League Cup action this week, and – even though most managers will rotate heavily – injuries are always still a risk.

Alternatively, if you’re really, really sick of Morgan Rogers (like me)… ah, why not. Just bin him, and make the pain stop.
