In the ever-evolving world of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), staying on top of the latest injury updates is very helpful. So, let’s delve into the injuries that truly matter in FPL, dissecting each one and providing insightful analysis.
Brace yourself, for this week has seen a flurry of injuries across various teams, and we’re here to guide you through them, team by team.
Injuries
Here’s a round-up of all the injuries that actually matter in FPL, and a bit of analysis for each one. There’s bloody loads this week so we are going team by team.
Arsenal
- There are doubts surrounding Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Declan Rice. As of Friday morning, none of these players had trained in preparation for Saturday’s match against Bournemouth.
- Saka gets his own bullet. He hasn’t trained all week but he is in Bournemouth and has travelled with the squad. It’s likely he is in the squad for the game but we have no idea if he will play.
- With all these injures, its probable that Jesus plays on the wing again and Nketiah plays as the striker.
- Saliba and Vieira missed the midweek cup games “for a reason” according to Arteta. What that reason was, nobody knows… It could have just been rotation as most of the squad was rotated but the first team guys were at least on the bench.
- Timber and Partey are still unavailable.
Spurs
- Ange Postecoglou reported that James Maddison and Son Heung-min have trained this week but are still “sore” from the north London derby, so final checks will be made on that pair before kick-off. Cross your fingers with me…
Newcastle
- Harvey Barnes is going to be out for three months… Anthony Gordon looks like a great pick. And, for only 5.6, he is a good enabler for Mo.
- Isak was substituted in the midweek game with calf tightness and Wilson has hamstring tightness. Probably one of them plays and one of them sits.
- Burn is fighting an illness and Botman has a bit of a knee issue.
Chelsea
- In case you needed further motivation to sell Chilwell, he has a hamstring injury. I might be forced to keep him and play a 4.0 double gameweek defender…
- Pochettino also mentioned the possibility of fielding a makeshift striker at Craven Cottage due to player availability… He seems to trust Gallagher in every other position so…. (THIS IS A JOKE). It doesn’t seem like Broja is fit enough to start.
Liverpool
- Trent Alexander-Arnold has returned to training and is expected to be included in the matchday squad.
Manchester United
- The defence is a mess. Martinez will be out for an extended period. Reguilon won’t feature against Crystal Palace. Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw remain out.
- Eriksen is back after illness.
Man City
- Bernardo Silva won’t play so Foden, Grealish and Alvarez look nailed to start.
- John Stones is still injured alongside KDB (obvs).
Brighton
- Pascal Gross remains out but could return soon.
- Evan Ferguson is back from illness
Aston Villa
- Leon Bailey joins Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia on the sidelines.
- Alex Moreno is doubtful but working on his fitness. In deep draft leagues, you should pick him up off the waivers because he is class.
Suspensions, Bans, Etc.
- Antony is set to resume training while police inquiries proceed. Doesn’t seem like he will play.
- Jadon Sancho won’t feature for disciplinary reasons. Apparently he’s up all night playing Fifa…
- Rodri will serve the second game of a three-match ban. Kalvin Phillips may step in for Rodri.
That’s It!
Good luck, FPL managers, and may your choices lead you to glory in the world of Fantasy Premier League!
