After a disastrous gameweek for almost all of us, Fantasy Premier League gameweek 6 is staring us straight in the face.

Let’s turn it all around. Starting right now!

Top Talking Points

Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea

Well. They’ve been dreadful apart from against the worst team in the league…

For those of you who are tripled up, I think its time to get out of that. Jackson looks appalling and even though Sterling looks okay, the rest of the team is appalling, so he’s still not a good pick.

Gusto is the only exception, he is so cheap that he is fine to hold and probably rotate this week.

Chilwell getting rotated for Mudryk has me worried but not worried enough to drop him in my team. I don’t mind if you want to sell but I’m far more likely to get off my double and sell Sterling. But who would I get?

Just Get Mo…

I’ve been be-Mo-aning the lack of consistent assets in FPL and even tried a twelfth man and rotate strategy but I personally, feel like an idiot. Why have I not just got Mo Salah. Five weeks in FPL and Mo has returned every week.

It’s not explosive, but why do we care? Everyone else is so affordable, that having Mo is fine. Right now, I’m looking at Mo vs. Rashford and a rotation pick. Why rotate when you can just have the second best asset in FPL?!

So yeah, me and probably everyone else is getting him in.

What to Do with Watkins

When will this guy score!? Soon. Probably. He is waaay underperforming his xG and my fellow owners and I should be delighted with the number of assists he has got because he doesn’t deserve them.

When we get to the fixture ticker, you will see, you probably have to hold him. I probably wouldn’t buy him until I see him play another 90 and actually score. We don’t want another Jackson…

Strategic Thinking

Hold Those Knees – European Football Starts

Note that European football (and rotation) starts between gameweek 5 and 6.

Last night, Newcastle drew 0-0 with AC Milan. Newcastle were very lucky to get away with this one. Defensively, they should have conceded and in attacking terms they were awful. At least they didn’t have anyone injured.

Man City won 3-1. They were so dominant I don’t understand how they conceded, but in typical City fashion, they did. Alvarez was soooooooooooo good. Potentially he gets rotated but he’s amazing. Again, no injuries but both Alvarez and Haaland played the whole game so, in theory, they could be rotated. Who knows. It’s Pep.

It’s Time to Talk Fixtures

Now, more than any season I have played FPL, there is a huge difference between a good team and a good attack/good defence. I think we need to move past the simple good/bad fixture ticker, and look at the good and bad defences and good and bad attacks.

So, let’s look at our new fixture ticker…

Upcoming Fixture Ticker

This will be a regular stalwart of our pieces throughout the year. We will look at which teams have the best fixtures over the next five gameweeks to help you plan your transfers.

Teams in capitals are home fixtures and teams in lowercase are away fixtures.

Attacking Fixtures

Defensive Fixtures

Aston VillacheBHAwolWHULUT

Okay, so they’re both very similar. The algorithm loves a double gameweek. What can I say?

I still don’t think I would bring in any Burnley or Luton assets for the double. I just don’t care about them. They’re bad picks. Similarly, I don’t trust any attacking Newcastle assets but I love their defence.

Liverpool are up their for attacking fixtures which just reinforces my ‘just get Mo’ strategy. None of the others are nailed.

Villa are great. Buy Cash or Diaby with confidence. See above for Watkins.

And finally, Brentford defence looks nice.

Injury/Red Card News

Should I Buy?

In this section, we will look to answer the most basic question. Should I buy this player ahead of FPL gameweek 5?

Alvarez – It was certainly a mistake not starting the season with this guy. He still is a rotation risk, and that will only increase with Grealish fit and Champions League starting. But, yeah, he’s incredible.

Botman – Great defence, great fixtures.

Mbeumo – Yes. Love him. Hate that I don’t own him.

Ward-Prowse – No. He’s not gonna keep scoring. He’s not that type of player.

Salah – See above but YES!

Edoard – Nah. Palace suck.

Gusto – I’m moving off Chelsea assets so no.

Maddison – Great player, great pick but do you need him ahead of Arsenal away?

Mitoma – I’d rather have Mbeumo.

Trippier – Fine. But I’m a bit worried about his lack of attacking output.

Udogie/Romero – Not ahead of Arsenal away.

Cash – Absolutely yes.

Should I Sell?

In this section, we will look to answer the second most basic question. Should I sell this player ahead of FPL gameweek 5?

Chelsea assets – see top talking points.

Isak – sure. He’s getting rotated and not playing 90 and that’s not going to get better unless Wilson gets injured.

March – I probably wouldn’t this week but sure, I don’t mind it. He’s not that great.

Rashford, Bruno Fernandes – Yeah, United have great fixtures but they’re just a shit show. So many injuries. I would call this a 50:50 because they are very good. But I’m gonna sell Rash and Sterling and just get Mo.

Watkins – It’s frustrating that he hasn’t scored but no I wouldn’t sell. His constant assists total has him currently on a 170 point season. Upcoming fixtures are tasty.

Martinelli – I’d wait to hear how bad it is but don’t mind selling at all.

Wissa – Before Everton at home? No way.

Onana – Unless you’re desperate for the cash, I don’t like a goalkeeper transfer.

Captaincy Corner

For FPL gameweek 6, we, as always, like Haaland. He is incredible and always a pick but home .

If you are looking for differential, then don’t. I made that mistake last week.

James’ Moves

I have two transfer and 1.1 in the bank.

As previewed, I’m reasonably confident that I just sell Rash and Sterling for Mo and a 4.5 mid. I don’t care about fixtures with this guy.

That’s it

Hope that was helpful, please hold your transfers until after the Champions League!
