fpl gameweek 6 dream team

Best FPL Picks for Gameweek 6

When it comes to putting together your dream team for FPL in Gameweek 6, you’re honestly spoiled for choices.

I’m half-tempted to drop my free hit this week, looking at some of the fixtures.

Just look at these beauties:

  • Man City vs Burnley
  • Bournemouth @ Leeds
  • Spurs vs Wolves
  • Everton vs West Ham
  • Forest vs Sunderland

That’s not to mention decent attacking matchups for Chelsea and Man U, against Brighton and Brentford respectively. Oh, and Arsenal have a nice defensive fixture against Newcastle.

We’re spoiled for choice, basically.

How to make sense of it all?

By trying to sort through these many tasty options, to form the very best FPL team for Gameweek 6, of course!

FPL Gameweek 6 Dream Team

Based on the matchups, and the prices, this is what I’m leaning towards as the best FPL picks for this week.

For the record, the squad cost here is 99.2. The bench players are worth 18.2. So the starting lineup costs 81.

Using my squad as a reference. My squad value is 100.6, and I’d still have 1.5 in the bank, with this team.

With that cleared up, let’s go position by position.

Goalkeeper

With 1.5 in the bank, this is a spot I’m tempted to spend more in.

Bournemouth have looked very good indeed defensively. Leeds have… not looked good, except when they played Wolves… who make everyone look good.

So, I’m happy with Petrovic, who has three clean sheets already.

Your main alternatives would be:

  • Raya vs Newcastle
  • Pickford vs West Ham
  • Donnarumma vs Burnley
  • Sels vs Sunderland

I generally like them in that order, too.

Defenders

There are so many good defensive matchups that you’re spoiled for choice here.

I’d definitely take Porro. He’s got good chances at both attacking and defensive returns.

After that though, any of these are great matchups for defensive players:

  • Arsenal vs Newcastle
  • Everton vs West Ham
  • Man City vs Burnley
  • Forest vs Sunderland
  • Bournemouth vs Leeds

In fact, I’d be tempted here to go with four at the back, and bin a midfielder. There are just so many shots at clean sheets.

Midfielders

The weakest position in FPL right now. But, that doesn’t stop us getting in on some of these tasty matchups.

Semenyo picks himself, against Leeds.

I’d take at least a Forest double-up against Sunderland, and like Gibbs White most of their midfielders.

West Ham are rubbish, so I also want an Everton midfielder. I’d lean slightly towards Grealish, but if you wanted Ndiaye, I wouldn’t argue.

The last spot is the toughest.

I don’t really want Arsenal attackers against Newcastle, and I’m afraid of Pep Roulette for City.

I’ve settled on Bruno here. I think he’s been solid recently, his stats would look much better if he’d scored the pen against Fulham, and Brentford’s defence has been pretty inconsistent.

My main alternative would be a Spurs midfielder. Xavi and Johnson are both rotation risks though. I like Kudus, but he’s definitely more of an assist threat, compared to Bruno’s potential for goals.

Forwards

Haaland against Burnley is the first name on the team sheet.

I’m even leaning towards triple captaining him – you can read all about that here.

I also really like Richarlison, for now. He’s got three goals already this year, has passed the eye test, and Wolves at home is an absolute dream matchup.

The last spot is slightly trickier.

I can’t really trust Evanilson right now – he’s just not playing well. Regretfully then, I’m passing on him against Leeds.

I’ve got similar feelings about Wood. It’s a nice fixture, but he’s just in such poor form.

In their place, I’m backing Joao Pedro.

The matchup isn’t as good, but isn’t bad either. Brighton have the 6th-worst xGA, and haven’t kept a clean sheet yet.

JP has also looked excellent, even playing well in the tough game against Man U, and has five returns already.

Final Thoughts

Well, that’ll do it for now!

Hopefully, this little look at a dream team for FPL Gameweek 6 will help guide your transfers. Maybe you’re even pretty close to this side already – you lucky so-and-so.

(Maybe you’re getting slightly tempted to free hit this week, and exploit all these excellent matchups, like yours truly).

Regardless, thanks for reading everybody. Feedback is always welcome – in the comments below, or on Reddit – and stay tuned for more Gameweek 6 preview content coming soon!
