In this FPL Gameweek 35 Preview we will do the usual fixture tickers, consider what to do about Chelsea and Spurs assets and look at who you should buy and sell.
If you are on wildcard we did a piece about that earlier in the week.
Haaland and Palmer Injuries – Latest
Palmer will be available for the weekend according to Pocchetino. That makes him a lock for my team and most likely my captain this week.
We knoe Haaland is back in training according to City Xtra (which is normally right). I think that means he should stay in your squad, if not your first eleven. Pep’s presser gave us no new info but on Thursday, we heard it was only a minor injury and you will want him for gameweek 37 doubles anyway.
What To Do About Spurs And Chelsea Assets?
In case you haven’t noticed, both Spurs and Chelsea double in 35 and 37. Look below at the fixture ticker to see the games.
Firstly, I hope you planned in advance as we previously warned. If you didn’t, just remember this next season and we will deal with it.
Secondly, I think your reaction depends upon whether you have a wildcard or not. If you have a wildcard, it makes sense to load up on 4-6 players from these teams.
If you don’t have a wildcard then try and focus on the attacking players as both defences (like most of them this year) suck. Palmer will most likely be the most captained player from active teams and Son is the number one guy at Spurs so I would prioritise them. After those guys, it gets more difficult but I think Maddison and Jackson are the next top two targets based on their underlying numbers and Maddo’s pedigree.
As I said, even on wildcard it is not essential to have six players from these teams, their defences suck anyway. But, the fixtures from an attacking perspective look good.
Fixture Tickers
This is a regular stalwart of our pieces throughout the year. We will look at which teams have the best fixtures over the next five gameweeks to help you plan your transfers.
Teams in capitals are home fixtures and teams in lowercase are away fixtures.
Only a single fixture ticker this week, rather than defensive and attacking. That’s because the doublers dominate the ticker.

Should I Buy?
Ahead of gameweek 35 should you buy these guys?
Generally, I’m advising you buy players who will double in 35 and/or 37.
Isak – Yes. Slight concern that Wilson’s return from injury will reduce his minutes. But, this guy is 5th in all outfield players for xGI per 90 this year with great fixtures.
Son – Yes. Great player with two doubles.
- Fernandes – Yes. In form excellent player with good fixtures. Let’s just hope United don’t shit the bed. Or, they do, but only in defence so they have to attack.
Foden – Yes. Without CL fixture congestion he is more nailed now but I still expect a degree of rotation. The thing is, he has double digit hauls in his recent past and hopefully his future.
Jackson – Yes. I know. Hear me out. 14th for xGI per 90 of all outfield players, only 6.8 and with two doubles. He simply has to revert to the mean and actually deliver soon right? RIGHT?
Gordon – Yes. Mega cheap and consistently delivers at home with great fixtures. Yes please.
Schar – Yes. Although, I am not convinced he is worth 1.2 more than Burn. Still, great fixtures and has more attacking threat than Burn.
Watkins – Maybe. I know this guy has no doubles but he is super consistent. It’s a luxury to get him but he is class. So, if you have transfers and money to spare, I don’t mind it at all.
Mateta – No. You’ve had your fun. I didn’t. Good fixtures but go for the higher upside and consistency of other picks.
De Bruyne – Maybe. He can’t get through 90 minutes anymore which means he definitely won’t play 180 in the double gameweek. Still, he’s basically a differential at this point. So, I consider him a worthwhile investment, albeit a bit risky.
Porro – Yes. But go in with eyes wide open. His attacking returns have been few and far between in the second half of the season.
Palmer – Yes. You’re going to captain him.
Gvardiol/Walker – Maybe. My favourite of the City defenders to pick but I just don’t trust them (or any of them) to start consistently. If on wildcard, consider Ederson instead. More nailed.
Should I Sell?
Ahead of gameweek 35 should you sell these guys?
Salah – Yes if you need the money to grab say Son and Fernandes. Don’t do it just for the sake of it though, he is still a good player.
Haaland – No. I think he is back next week at the latest and it’s a waste of a transfer.
Darwin/Luis Diaz – Yes. Not as good as Mo and there are better fixtures out there at similar prices.
Saka – Maybe. If you are loading up on doublers I can see why you sell him but he’s not too expensive and a great player with okay fixtures.
Solanke – Maybe. Don’t be surprised if he smashes two past Brighton this week – they are dreadful. But I understand if you are moving for doublers.
Toney – Yes. He doesn’t seem to be fully fit still.
Udogie – Yes. He is out for the season.
Virgil – Yes. You can get better value elsewhere.
Eze – Maybe. Still a great player with good fixtures. Understand if you want doublers.
Captaincy Corner
This is was going to be a really easy week for captaincy. Palmer has the double gameweek and is class. But, there is a slight question mark over his minutes. Son is the other logical option. Spurs play Arsenal which I would normally say is a terrible fixture but the north London derby always throws up some strangeness.
James’ Move
I am on wildcard and currently agonising
That’s it!
