Greetings all, and welcome to a delicious buffet of Gameweek 25 FPL transfer tips.
A whole lot of goals were scored in Gameweek 24, which meant a whole lot of points for attacking players. You can probably guess, therefore, who the FPL playing public is bringing in right now – basically, all the many players that just scored last week.
Do they belong on your own beloved team? And, if so, who needs to be binned to make room for them?
The answers to all these questions and more (… actually, it’s basically just the answers to those questions) await below.
Arsenal Double Gameweek 26 Confirmed
With the Carabao Cup semifinals wrapped up midweek, we now know that Arsenal and Wolves will have a double in Gameweek 26. That means it’s time to consider whether triple Arsenal – and, to a lesser extent, triple Wolves – are worth targeting.
For triple Arsenal, the answer is a clear yes.
They’re by far the best defense in the league, and you likely already have at least a defensive double-up. If not, I’d recommend addressing that! Gabriel,
The third Arsenal spot is trickier.
Saka is likely out until Gameweek 27, so Rice becomes your next most favourable option. Punt on Madueke if you want, but it’s a short-term move.
Personally, as regular readers will know, I’ve had an Arsenal triple-up at the back for months now. There have been some ups and downs, as with all defences, but three cleans sheets in the last four games has equalled a whole lot of points for this guy. Feel fee to join me!
As for Wolves… you can probably ignore them. Yes, they’ve got a double Gameweek, but let’s not overthink it – they’re simply not good from an FPL (or real life) perspective.
The only potential pick is Mateus Mane at 4.6 million as a third forward. But even then, you probably won’t actually want to play him.
The Wolves defense, you say? Also mid-table at best, and also not worth your time.
Gameweek 25 Transfer Tips – Should I Buy?
As noted, we’ve got a ton of attacking players being brought in this week… and it’s actually pretty hard to argue with most of them!
Here are the most-bought players, heading into Gameweek 25.
- Joao Pedro – Yes. I sounded a note of caution on him last week. I was wrong. He’s scored five goals in his last six games, in all competitions, surely won’t be benched again, and now plays Wolves, Leeds, and Burnley back to back – yummy. Do be aware that he then has a terrible run of fixtures – Arsenal, Villa, Newcastle, Everton, City, Man U, all in a row – so you’ll be moving him out again in a few weeks. He’s extremely high upside for the short-term, though
- Bruno F – Yes. Just get him in, if you haven’t already. He’s ridiculously consistent, and is a good captaincy option for three of the next four weeks
- Enzo – Yes. Unlike with JP, I definitely got this one right last week! He’s now returned in five of the last six games, and has those aforementioned excellent Chelsea fixtures coming up. Fantastic value, at only 6.8
- Ekitike / Wirtz – Maybe. Both are obviously excellent players. I don’t love their next few fixtures though – City, Sunderland away, Forest away. If you want to bet on their talent overriding those matchups, that’s fine – I’d just rather wait until GW 28 when their fixtures get better
- Mbeumo – Yes. Blanking in a game where they scored three goals, and he played 90 minutes, and Bruno and Cunha (and Sesko) returned, is very annoying indeed. He’s still excellent though, his underlying stats were fine, and now he’s got Spurs at home then West Ham away, which are very nice matchups indeed
- Gabriel – Yes. Always yes. He’s one of the best players in FPL, and worth every penny
- Semenyo – Yes. As of right now I’m very annoyed I took Mbeumo over him last week. He’s carried on being brilliant at City. Technically you might want to wait a week until after Liverpool away, but I think that fixture sounds scarier than it really is, and Kerkez hasn’t exactly been a lockdown defender this season. Obviously Pep Roulette is always a factor, but he’s been racking up full 90’s since he got there, and doesn’t exactly face a ton of competition in that right wing spot
- Cunha – Maybe. He’s obviously been productive (although you could argue that production has come from worldies, which are generally unsustainable). You can’t really count on either the starts or minutes though. I’d rather just have Mbeumo for a bit more money
- Bowen – Yes. One of my favourite ever FPL players is right back in form, and looks like his old reliable self again. He’s returned in four of his last six games (kinda – that’s if you include the DefCons from the Wolves game), and I think his fixtures are fine – Burnley away is nice, Man U at home could be fine based on that Fulham game, then Bournemouth at home (who are not a good away side)
- Chalobah – No. I don’t get it. The fixtures can be as appealing as you like… but if a team doesn’t keep clean sheets, it doesn’t matter! They just played Palace and West Ham, two poor sides right now, and couldn’t clean against either of them. And he costs 5.7!
- Wilson – Maybe. He wasn’t great against Man U, but obviously nobody plays well every single week. I still like his value at 6.1, but the fixtures are so-so – Everton home, City away, then Sunderland away in his next three. I’d lean towards just seeing how he does in those, then looking to bring him in for his nice run starting in GW 28
- Senesi – No. That was their first clean since Gameweek 15, and it came against the worst side in the league. I’d rather have Cash at that price
- Rice – Yes. His actual returns have been lacklustre recently, but his underlying stats in his last three games have been excellent. He still has so many routes to points, the fixtures are fine, and he’s got a double gameweek in 26
- Kroupi – Maybe. On paper he’s a solid pick, at a bargain basement price of only 4.7 – he’s getting starts, even if he never finishes games, the fixtures are fine, and Bournemouth’s attack has looked good recently. I don’t really see how he fits into your team structure, though. If you want an enabler forward, just get Guiu for 0.5 less, or Mane from Wolves – who plays far more minutes – and play five mids (there are plenty to choose from). If you want to start three forwards, I’d much rather spend on one of the many good options we have – JP, Bowen, etc.

Gameweek 25 Transfer Tips – Should I Sell?
“For every action, a reaction. For every FPL transfer in, a transfer out.”
– Sir Isaac Newton, 1721.
Wise words, there.
Here are my sizzling hot takes on the most-sold players in FPL right now.
- Saka – Yes. He’s been injured or simply off the boil for weeks now. Free up all that money!
- Bruno G – Maybe. Ugh, what a tricky situation. He was on the bench against PSG, then disappeared again for the Liverpool game. At this point, I’d probably just get rid. There’s too much uncertainty, and too many other good midfielders. Moving him for Enzo would be the obvious move, or you could upgrade him to Rice
- Thiago – Yes… and prepare to be punished. Right now though, it probably is a yes. He had those two explosive gameweeks, with five goals between them. Take those out, and he’s blanked in eight of the last nine other gameweeks. His fixtures do turn from GW27 onwards, so if you’re particularly patient you could just hold him for those… but he’s also already blanked against Leeds home, Wolves, Bournemouth home, Forest home, Spurs away… so I wouldn’t be particularly hopeful even then!
- Foden – Yes. A million times yes. I’m so pleased that I finally managed to quit him
- Watkins – Maybe. The injury doesn’t sound that bad, based on Emery’s comments before the Brentford game, so he could come back this week. I’d really just try to hold him, if you can – he’d been good, and consistent for a while before the injury… and good, consistent forwards are hard to come by! Tammy Abraham’s arrival is a bit annoying for him, since I presume it means he’ll start getting hooked again after around 70mins; he’s been in that situation before and still been productive, though
- Rogers – No. It just feels too soon. He did pretty much everything he could to get a return against Brentford… and watching that game, as an owner, I was incredibly frustrated he couldn’t quite get it done! Bournemouth’s defence is pretty mediocre, then he has a few good fixtures in a row. Stay patient!
- Dorgu – Yes, out for a while
- Van de Ven – Yes. Spurs’ defence is rubbish, and now they have three tough games in a row (/two, plus Newcastle – either way they’re probably not keeping any cleans)
- Haaland – No. Still no. Despite the recent dip he’s still got the most points… by a 34pt margin
- Woltemade – Yes. I love him in real life, but we always knew the party might be over when Wissa came back… and so it has proven!
- DCL – Maybe. I still think he’s fine value at 6.0, especially if you’re starting three forwards (or going for a Haaland + Salah strategy… just saying). I wouldn’t overreact to blanks away at Everton and home to Arsenal, and would probably hold him for the Forest home and Chelsea fixtures, then sell before his Villa/City games
- Rice – No. See ‘Should I Buy?’ – to which the answer was, ‘Yes’!
- Guehi – No. Just bench him for the Liverpool game – he’s got a fantastic defensive fixture run after that
