What’s that? An FPL deadline? But we just had a deadline!
Yes, we’re getting towards the Christmas(/silly) season in Fantasy Premier League. It’s not here yet – we’ve got a few regular gameweeks to come – but we can definitely consider this training for the madness ahead.
You all know what’s coming – lots of gameweeks mushed together, and lots of early deadlines to forget. Oh, and the inevitable spate of injuries, and seemingly nailed players getting benched.
Truly, the season of joy is approaching in FPL!
Fear not, though – your pals here at Full 90 FPL are just about keeping on top of matters, and we’ve put together some speedy tips to get you ready in this case. Without further ado, here’s your FPL Gameweek 14 preview.
Isak Out?
It looks like Isak is injured and likely won’t feature. Even if he does, it’s against Liverpool – not exactly an ideal fixture. Whether you decide to sell or hold really depends on your team setup.
If your bench options aren’t great, or you’d be left relying on a subpar defender, selling might be the best move.
On the other hand, if you’ve got a solid bench player ready to step in, holding is absolutely still an option.
There are plenty of good alternatives to consider, such as Havertz, Jackson, Cunha, Strand Larsen, Joao Pedro or Evanilson.
Whatever you decide, make sure it aligns with your overall strategy!
Mbeumo and Fernandes – The Fixtures Turn!
The fixtures for Brentford and Manchester United take a turn for the worse starting this gameweek, which puts players like Mbeumo and Fernandes in a tricky spot.
While you could hold onto them given their nailed-on status, I’m looking to move them on. My plan is to bring in Saka and Rogers, which feels fine… but only if I keep Isak.
Other strong options in a similar price range include Gordon and Bowen, who both have great fixtures and solid underlying stats.
If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, Semenyo is worth considering. He offers similar potential, while freeing up funds to improve other areas of your squad.

Should I Buy?
Looking at the most-bought players in FPL, ahead of Gameweek 14, and don’t know whether you should buy one? We will tell you!
- Salah/Saka/Palmer – Yes. All great players with great fixtures.
- Jackson – Yes. He has four yellow cards so could get banned in the near future, which is putting a lot of people off… but he might never get that fifth yellow. You could sit there and wait until gameweek 19 (when the yellow card rule extends) and miss out on a great (FPL) player with great fixtures. If you do get him, just make sure you have a bench player to come in.
- Cunha – Yes, if you want someone for the next 4-6 weeks. However, if you want someone longer term, then try…
- Joao Pedro – Yes. He will not make 90 mins most weeks in the medium term. BUT, his underlying numbers tend to be incredible, especially for the price you pay.
- Mitoma – Yes. Decent price for a good player with good fixtures. At one point two years ago he was electric. However, I’d be slightly nervous because we haven’t seen that form since. Regardless, I think the fixtures are good enough that you can just buy him.
- Wan-Bissaka – Absolutely not. Are you kidding me?! West Ham have one of the worst defences in the league. Ignore him.
- Virgil – Yes, but I’d rather have Gabriel or Saliba.
- Amad/Rashford – No. The next three fixtures are tough, and we aren’t sure if either is completely nailed yet (they probably are, but we’re not sure they’ll start every game!). Sit, wait, and watch this one.
- Kluivert – No. I’d rather have Semenyo, who has better non-penalty xGI. Kluivert won’t get three penalties every week. Kluivert is fine I suppose, but I don’t think he’s a good pick.
- Aina – No. Man City will turn this around at some point, and it could be this week. And, Forest’s upcoming fixtures are dreadful – like bottom 5 for the next 10.
- Porro – No. He doesn’t get enough points going forward, and the defensive fixtures are too tough.
- Wood and Wissa – No. Their fixtures are bad.
Should I Sell?
And now let’s take a look at the most-sold players in FPL, ahead of Gameweek 14.
- Haaland – Yes. But we are getting close to wanting him back in (for gameweek 18).
- Konate – Yes. He looks injured.
- Gvardiol – Yes. I told you he wasn’t nailed. Besides, their defence sucks at the moment.
- Smith-Rowe – You could wait a week, until the Arsenal fixture, but sure
- Solanke – If we don’t hear any news, stating that he’ll definitely play this week, then yes.
- Garnacho – Yes. We don’t know if he is nailed, and the fixtures are bad.
- Rogers/Watkins – No. Playing against Brentford is one of the best fixtures, because they’re stupidly attacking.
- McNeil – No. Wait one week. Home to Wolves is an excellent fixture right now.
Captaincy Corner
Palmer is the standout option this week. He played better against Villa than he has recently, and Southampton are absolutely awful, which means his ceiling is really high.
I quite like Saka at home to Man United too. It is just a concern of mine that Amorim will make progress and Arsenal might struggle to smash them… which is obviously what we want from a captain.
That’s It.
If you learnt nothing else from this FPL preview… don’t forget the early deadline! It’s 6pm UK time!
Hopefully you did indeed learn a little bit more, however, and we at least got you slightly ready for Gameweek 14. Yep, they’re the kind of high standards we set, here at Full 90 FPL.
Good luck this week, everybody, and if you did indeed gain something worthwhile from this preview, give us a follow on Reddit for more of the same!
