fpl gameweek 10 dream team

Best FPL Picks for Gameweek 10

Warmest greetings, all, and welcome to the team of your dreams – otherwise known as your dream team – for FPL Gameweek 10.

It’s a funny old week, regarding the FPL fixtures. We do have four nice matchups to target (assuming Man U are actually good right now):

  • Brighton vs Leeds
  • Arsenal @ Burnley
  • Man U @ Forest (… probably)
  • Newcastle @ West Ham

Elsewhere though, we have quite a few matchups which seem pretty evenly balanced, and therefore tricky to exploit. For example:

  • Palace vs Brentford
  • Spurs vs Chelsea
  • Liverpool vs Villa
  • Man City vs Bournemouth

Fear not, however – for I (Joe) have heroically battled through this mixed bag of matchups, to bring you your best FPL picks for Gameweek 10 regardless.

I know, I know – I’m an inspiration to us all.

FPL Gameweek 10 Dream Team

Well, that’s it – your dream team for Gameweek 10!

This actually comes in nicely under budget, this week, without needing to cut corners. Assuming you’ve got Dubravka on the bench, and three subs of around 4.5-5.5, you should be able to put this together pretty easily.

For reference, my squad value is 99.6, and I’ve got 1.6 in the bank, for a total of 101.2. With a Dubravka/Guiu/De Cupyer/Anderson bench, I’d still have 1.3 left in the bank, even with this team.

Without further ado, let’s get stuck into the explanations for these picks.

Goalkeeper

Your best chance of keeping a clean sheet is basically always to back Arsenal.

We don’t normally recommend spending big on a keeper, here at Full 90 FPL… but nobody who got Raya in for this nice fixture run is exactly crying themselves to sleep. He’s kept three clean sheets in a row, and it would be pretty shocking at this point if Burnley away didn’t make that four. Plus, you get the Sunderland fixture next week too.

Pope hasn’t produced as well recently, but West Ham away is obviously an amazing fixture, and he saves you 0.5 on Raya.

If you want to go the cheap route, it’s hard to look past current top-scoring goalkeeper (!) Roefs, at Sunderland. He plays Everton this week, who haven’t scored in their past two games, and Sunderland have cleaned in two of their last four games.

Defence

Ƒor clean sheet purposes, we’re obviously targeting the same fixtures here as we are for keepers.

If you aren’t taking Raya, just get the Arsenal defensive double-up if, you can. I jumped on board back in GW7, and have been racking up the points ever since. Just don’t ask me about my third Arsenal player, who does a lot of running around and barging into centre-backs, but never actually puts the ball in the net, grumble grumble.

Gabriel is super expensive, but he’s the best defender in the game by an absolute mile, so I’d say he’s still worth it. Saliba went off at half-time against Palace. If he’s out for a while then Mosquera becomes excellent value, at 5.4. Assuming he isn’t, just take Timber for now at 6.0.

In an ideal world, you’d chuck Munoz in with those two. I love him, wish I’d had him all season, and Brentford at home is fine for both a clean sheet chance, and a shot at attacking returns.

Big Dan Burn would round out my dream team back four, for Gameweek 10. He’s nailed on for 90 minutes, and – again – West Ham away is as good as it gets right now.

If you can’t afford that back line – perhaps because you’ve got money tied up in useless strikers, like myself – there are still some decent cheaper options.

A cheap Sunderland defender is obviously a great enabler this week. You can get Mukiele for a cool 4.1, in fact, which is just lovely.

Fulham vs Wolves also feels like a pretty low-scoring game. I’d give Fulham’s defence the nod, and you can get Bassey or Tete for only 4.5.

Midfield

If you haven’t tripled up at the back, on Arsenal, just get Saka. He’s great, is on pens, and now gets Burnley away.

Everyone is piling on with Mbeumo, and I can’t argue with it. We already knew he was an excellent player, he’s got three goals and an assist in his last three games, and now he gets to play terrible, terrible Forest.

I don’t love any of the other mid-priced-or-higher midfielders enough to recommend them. Gakpo is fine, for example, but I don’t really love the fixture or Liverpool’s form. And Newcastle’s midfield rotation is a mess, so annoyingly we can’t exploit their West Ham fixture.

Fortunately, I do like a couple of cheaper options.

I added Minteh last week, and he immediately rewarded me with an assist. He only costs 6.0, and this week he gets Leeds at home… who aren’t terrible, but that’s still definitely one of the better matchups you can ask for.

I also love Ismaila Sarr in general, and will almost certainly get him myself this week. Similarly to Leeds, the Brentford fixture isn’t ‘amazing’, but it’s good enough. He’s only 6.5, and – the fixture against Arsenal’s excellent defence aside – his underlying stats have been very good recently.

Forwards

Haaland takes one spot… obviously.

Woltemade would be my next-favourite option. I’ve watched him a fair bit this season, think he looks fantastic, and this is our in for exploiting the West Ham matchup.

I don’t love playing three forwards this week, since they keep letting us down in general. If you do want to, however, we’ve got two good, cheap options.

Strand Larsen finally got off the mark last week, and Fulham’s defence has looked much worse than expected. I’d give the nod to Welbeck, though, who has five goals in his last four games, and now plays Leeds at home.

Finally, a note on Gyökeres. You might have noticed that I’m not his biggest fan, if you’ve been reading closely. And… I just can’t recommend him this week. Not even against Burnley. Hold him if you’ve got him (and probably suffer another blank, grumble grumble), but don’t bring him in for this game – he hasn’t shown anywhere near enough to justify it.

Final Thoughts

Well, despite the aforementioned mixed bag of fixtures, I’m pretty pleased with that Gameweek 10 dream team.

It’s got me somewhat, not-quite-seriously, but still-slightly tempted to finally drop my wildcard, and sort out my Gordon/Joao Pedro/Gyokores mess.

But anyway, this isn’t about me. It’s about you, fellow FPL player, and I hope this article has helped at least a little bit with your selections heading into Gameweek 10. Thanks for reading, and and check back throughout the week for more juicy preview content!
