A quick note up top.
This will be the fifth year James and I (Joe) have been running Full 90 FPL. Not once have we firmly requested anything from our dear readers.
We did ask for donations last season, and received almost none – which is fine, of course, since donations are obviously voluntary!
But also, we do have hosting bills to pay, and domain renewals, and spend endless hours on this website alongside our full-time jobs… so, we’d quite like to earn at least a little money from this whole venture, at some point. Hopefully that’s understandable!
That’s why – this season – we’ve decided to ask for a small contribution for our popular, annual FPL Draft Rankings.
We’re only charging £5.
For that, you get the entire Top 150 rankings (which took quite a while to work out!). Not only that, but you get access to our entire, brand new Drafting Tool.
This not only features our draft rankings, but is also completely interactive – both before and during your draft. It sorts by position, value relative to the average free agent at that position, and league size. It provides both projections for this season, and the actual stat for last season.
We’ve messed around with it plenty ourselves, and love it. We’ve asked other people to test it too – including for actual drafts – and they also enjoyed it.
You can try it out for yourself just below, with our Top 10 players.
So!
If you’d like to both support the site, and get our full Top 150 Draft Rankings, and get an entire, super-useful, fully interactive FPL Draft tool, please consider chucking us £5 right here, or by clicking the button below.
As you might have noticed, based on the text above, our annual FPL Draft Rankings are back! And – if we say so ourselves – they’re better, sharper, and more unapologetically opinionated than ever.
We’ve ranked the top 150 players you’ll need to win your FPL draft league this season. This is a proper draft board – built using data, logic, and a healthy, general disregard for groupthink.
Whether you’re in a six-team league, or pushing the limits with ten, our list is tailored to give you the edge over your friends/competitors/mortal enemies – one pick at a time.
Let’s get into it.
If you are asking yourself this question, check out our FPL Draft Guide.
It may seem like a silly question, but FPL draft rankings are based on a common tool used in American fantasy sports. Despite some people’s views, the Americans do do it better sometimes.
Much like the seasoned pros in American sports, we have designed our own draft rankings because we don’t think FPL Towers are right with their own.
Our full drafting tool has 150 players.
For some context, a six team draft league will draft 90 players, an eight team league will draft 120 players and a ten team league will draft 150 players. That is:
Position | Six Team League | Eight Team League | Ten Team League |
GK | 12 | 16 | 20 |
DEF | 30 | 40 | 50 |
MID | 30 | 40 | 50 |
FWD | 18 | 24 | 30 |
Total | 90 | 120 | 150 |
Our Draft rankings are perfect for a ten team league, because they include 150 players.
If you are playing with a six or eight team league you can ever so slightly de-prioritise forwards because there will be more of them available to you – don’t go mad though, the good ones are still incredibly rare.
This is the maximum number of teams where a draft league is viable. And even then, it can be a stretch. There are just not 30 forwards that play enough minutes in the game, let alone more than that.
Six teams is probably the minimum in which a draft league is viable. Because there are so many good choices out there it becomes a bit too easy and dull.
Trust me. Joe and I once did a head-to-head draft, just me and him. It was soooooo boring.
I actually think the sweet spot is an eight team league. There are just enough forwards so that everyone can have two starters and a third forward that probably gets minutes.
I (James) picked the players for these FPL draft rankings based on a number of factors, but basically it is the data with a bit of points projections based on past performance (both expected and real) plus my judgement. Your judgement may be different.
The factors considered were:
It’s a bit obvious, but yeah.
And, okay, I can’t ‘know’ this. Nobody can. But, I can take a good guess based on previous years performance, underlying stats and potential.
These are two key considerations, particularly when looking at your higher picks. Your picks can’t score points if they don’t play. But, I am open to taking a punt on riskier guys, just not with my top picks.
Playing forwards are rare. Good playing forwards are like gold dust. So, you pay a premium for a forward.
I used to think having a premium keeper was valuable but they are have been far and away the worst picks since the introduction of DefCons.
Unlike in the main game, fixtures matter a lot less in the draft. Particularly because you aren’t going to drop a good asset for a bad fixture.
Okay, enough waffle, let’s get into the rankings.
You can get my projections, and my full rankings, AND our fancy new tool for FPL Draft 26/27 – in all their glory – for the low, lost cost of only £5 – right here:

Here’s my reasoning for the top 50 or so picks.
1 | Haaland | 6 | Gabriel |
2 | B. Fernandes | 7 | Saka |
3 | Isak | 8 | Virgil |
4 | Watkins | 9 | Joao Pedro |
5 | Palmer | 10 | Tarkowski |
It’s hopefully completely obvious to you that Haaland is our number one pick because forwards are rare and he is absolutely nailed and just incredible.
For similar reasons, Isak, Watkins and Joao Pedro join in the fun at the top ten. Isak will be a mins risk at some point but Ekitike is out for half the season and he is very capable of a 20 goal season. Watkins is less prolific but absolutely nailed. And, JP is probably nailed in a team without European football just off his breakout season.
Fernandes comes in second, but if I had second pick I would be tempted to swerve him for one of these forwards. Of course, he is absolutely nailed though and a fitness monster which I love.
Palmer and Saka are probably obvious pickups too because of their high ceilings – I know they haven’t been amazing the last two years but we know what they are capable of.
I guess the addition of Gabriel isn’t too shocking this year but he is joined by the other high-floor centre-back in Virgil.
I’ve already set out my stall on Tarkowski. He is one of the most reliable assets in FPL and almost certainly will be a top 3 DefCon merchant this year. I know it feels crazy to see him here but he is worth it.
I’m not going to explain absolutely everyone from here on out, it’s too many names and boring, but I will continue to give you my general view.
11 | Mbeumo | 16 | Truffert |
12 | Gibbs-White | 17 | Rice |
13 | Thiago | 18 | Cunha |
14 | Calvert-Lewin | 19 | Szoboszlai |
15 | Solanke | 20 | Wirtz |
Another three forwards in Thiago, Calvert-Lewin and Solanke make it seven forwards in the top FPL draft picks for 26/27. Hopefully, you can already see that there aren’t many left which is what is driving them all up the rankings. Thiago tops them by being nailed and good. Calvert-Lewin is just nailed and Solanke is good but has fitness issues – that’s the logic.
There are a plethora of good midfield options in here too – guys with high ceiling and are nailed – Mbeumo, Gibbs-White, Rice, Szoboszlai. Players like these are hard to come by so take ‘em.
Cunha and Wirtz do have minutes risk in my opinion, just because others can play in their position.
21 | Munoz | 26 | Milenkovic |
22 | Semenyo | 27 | Mateta |
23 | Rogers | 28 | Sarr |
24 | McBurnie | 29 | Senesi |
25 | Bruno G. | 30 | Enzo |
Munoz becomes the second wing-back to get on this list and like the former (Truffert) he also gets DefCons from time to time.
Semenyo could make a mockery of this draft rank but we just don’t know his nailedness. And, Rogers under a new manager may no longer defy his underlyings.
Two more forwards takes us up to 9 forwards in the top 30 picks. McBurnie seems hilariously overvalued by my projections until you look and see that none of the rest of the guys after him are nailed. That includes Mateta who will compete with Strand Larsen in a season with European football too.
He is joined by fellow Palace player Sarr who is always great on underlyings.
There are a couple of quite dull picks here now – Enzo is kind of fine at a lot of things so if he stays he should be good. I am assuming Bruno G. gets good minutes at his new club with Rice already looking like he is injured.
31 | O. Dango | 41 | Maddison |
32 | Lacroix | 42 | Stach |
33 | Le Fee | 43 | Gvardiol |
34 | Mitchell | 44 | N. Williams |
35 | van Hecke | 45 | Ballard |
36 | Collins | 46 | Anderson |
37 | Thiaw | 47 | Hirst |
38 | Schade | 48 | Raya |
39 | Pedro Porro | 49 | Manzambi |
40 | Igor Jesus | 50 | Guehi |
We have two more forwards to take us up to eleven forwards in the top 50 – we are running out of options here and for the first time we take a bit of a risk and assume Igor Jesus is nailed over Wood. Hirst is probably the first choice for Coventry but they played three forwards quite a lot last season.
The first goalkeeper emerges with David Raya at 46. Even though he is so much better than his counterparts, he won’t outscore them by much hence the poor ranking.
Then we have 10 defenders – mostly reasonably good DefCon guys on solid defences. But. another couple of fun wing-backs like Porro and Williams.
And finally a bunch of fun midfield picks like Dango and Maddison or some more boring ones like Stach or Anderson.
51 | Foden | 52 | Cherki |
I think this is the right time to take a risk and have some fun. Right now, I think probably both these guys get less than 2000 mins. BUT on the off chance that either one of them is nailed, then they will SMASH this draft ranking.
I can see a world in which you decide to take them a bit earlier. After all, Maddison is above them and he has to be a minutes risk too right? But, I also can see a world in which I swerve them altogether just to avoid the headache.
And with that, I am going to stop explaining the full list.
Again, you can whack the button below to check out the rest of the rankings, get the full tool, and help to support the site, by chucking us a fiver.
