Why hello there, FPL Draft fans.
For the second year running, we published our FPL Draft Rankings before the 25/26 season started. And, people seemed to like them!
(You can check those out, and look for all the rankings you already disagree with, here).
So, this season, we thought we’d write a little more content for all the Draft players out there. If you want to see more of something, or would like help in any particular area, please let us know in the comments below, or on Reddit. We’re all ears!
Without further ado, here are the best waiver wire targets for Gameweek 3 in FPL Draft.
(Note: FPL Towers, for some reason, doesn’t give ownership percentages for players in Draft. So, we’re taking educated guesses at which players will have low ownership, and are more likely to be available in your leagues).
Bournemouth’s defence is just generally underrated. Many expected them to struggle after they lost so many players in the summer, but they look pretty much the same as last season across the first two weeks.
Truffert was a popular preseason pick in regular FPL, but could well still be available in your Draft leagues, and definitely has attacking potential.
Newcastle’s defence really does look elite. They shut Villa down completely in the first game, and restricted Liverpool to 4 shots on target, despite the early red card.
They also happen to play Leeds and Wolves next, which are great games for clean sheet odds.
Hall may have been overlooked in your draft, as he wasn’t fit to start the season, but he just returned from injury. Burn is less likely to be available, but has looked particularly outstanding in the first two weeks.
He is possibly the starting striker for Spurs.
We don’t actually think he will be, for the long-term. But the possibility that he is means he is worth picking up if you have a non-playing third striker.
In case you missed it in our Gameweek 2 review, he has taken the most shots of anyone in the league. And he’s definitely passed the eye test too.
In a deep league I don’t mind this pick, but in a more shallow league he’s a fixtures pickup for the short-term.
Forest play West Ham, Burnley and Sunderland in their next four games – very tasty.
With Odegaard injured, he might be the replacement. He certainly came off the bench to replace him at the weekend. And, we believe he was playing in this role during preseason.
The only issue will be whether Eze just steps in and takes the role, rather than playing on the wing. Either way, Nwanieri is probably worth a punt for your fifth mid spot.
Both of these guys have attacking potential, and both looked good at the weekend.
Damsgaard is also good on defensive contributions – another big consideration this year.
He actually started last weekend, and I am anticipating him becoming the main striker from here on out.
Either way it’s worth taking the risk in your non-playing forward spot
With all the departures (and the Wissa mess), Brentford were a preseason worry. They looked much better in GW 2 than in the first week, though.
Thiago seems to have their starting striker spot locked down, even after Dango’s arrival. He’s played 90mins both games this season, and is on pens, giving him a solid shot at regular returns.
Well, we hope you enjoyed our first ever FPL Draft pickups piece. It’s definitely something different for us, so – again – we’re completely open to feedback.
In the meantime, happy trading, everybody!
