Some big scores out there this week, particularly for Wilson captainers. We are still mid-gameweek in FPL at the time of writing but, in stark contrast to last week, I’m not super happy
No Wilson and No Estupinian makes James go crazy.

I’m currently on a 40% red arrow down to 150k.
So far this week, I made the wrong call on Isak v.s. Wilson. I also completely wasted a transfer, bringing Martinelli in for the injured Rashford… only for Martinelli to get injured immediately. And, if I had just left it (which I almost did, because of West Ham’s fixture pile up) I would have got Ethan Pinnock off the bench for 7 points.
Fortunately, the Liverpool lads saved my bacon somewhat. Or at least, Salah’s two assists and Trent’s worldie got me off to a good start… then of course Jota came on for a one pointer.
Anyway, enough about me. I hope you are having far more success this week. I just think its important to share when I’m crap too 😊

It’s a quick and dirty FPL gameweek 37 preview this week. All roads lead to double gameweek players, and there is no need for a fixture ticker with only two gameweeks to go. It’s all about short term thinking now, guys!
Double Trouble Again!
This is the last week of the doubles this year!

I don’t know about you, but I am sick to death of doubles.
I’ve done very well out of them (apart from this one), but I’m sick of talking about them.
That said, I’m still here with a fresh batch of FPL Gameweek 37 tips. What a pro.
The doubles this week are:
- Man United – away to Bournemouth, home to Chelsea
- Brighton – home to Southampton, away to Man City
- Man City – home to Chelsea, awat to Brighton
- Chelsea – away to Man City, away to Man United
These teams are your priority targets for transfers this week. So, lets look at them all starting with the best FPL options:
Brighton
Players to buy:
- Mitoma
- MacAllister
- Estupunian
- Dunk
If you need a mid then Gross is your man but, as noted in my FPL tips last week, it’s pretty much a punt (although of course he did return last week).
March pulled his hamstring. Those tend to be medium term injuries, and hard to recover from. Even if he is “fit” I don’t expect him to play a full 90 and certainly not two games in a week. So I’m happy for you to sell (though I’d probably wait for more information).
Evan Ferguson could be an interesting pick if you need a forward. But, the rotation is heavy up front with Enciso, Welbeck and Undav all getting minutes at the moment. At least with Enciso, he seems to be covering March’s injury.
Man United
Players to buy:
- De Gea
- Shaw
- Fernandes
Rashford is currently injured. I sold him last week, but he’s top of my thoughts this week. If he is confirmed fit, I think my most sensible move is to buy him.
Man City
Players to buy:
- Haaland
I can’t really recommend any of the rest of the team. They are always a rotation risk. And, to make matters worse, they have practically won the league, so will prioritise Champions League against Real Madrid. So, I expect rotation to be worse than ever.
If you have space to take a punt then I think Mahrez, Grealish, Foden, Stones, Akanji, Ederson are all fine.
I prefer the midfielders to the defence because they concede in a lot of games, even if they don’t concede a lot.
I definitely would not triple up here though – that’s too much risk. The exception is if you need a big rank rise/score to beat mini league rivals.
Chelsea
Players to buy:
- DON’T!
They’re dreadful. Even their best FPL asset in Kepa is now bad, because Fat Frank has decided he doesn’t like him again.
Conclusion
Overall, I think triple Brighton is your priority in Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37. They are excellent, still have something to fight for, and just smashed the team currently in second in the league (sorry Joe).
I would also want Haaland and probably at least some exposure to the United defence, which is now surprisingly good.
Non-Doublers
Salah and Kane remain great options. I slightly prefer the former for the extra point for a goal and clean sheet point potential. Liverpool in general have great assets like Trent and Jota (although he’s obviously more of a rotation risk), and they have good fixtures.
Arsenal have almost certainly lost the title now, but they’re playing for pride. Saka has gone off the boil and Martinelli is injured, but I still like Odegaard. Trossard will probably start to the end of the season with ‘nelli out. They play Wolves at home on the last day, so I’d also certainly hold Ben White if you have him.
Palace play Fulham away and Nottingham Forest at home, so the in-form Eze is a pretty good option.
Captaincy corner
Haaland in a double gameweek… It’s Haaland. Don’t be too smart.
My FPL Transfers
It’s all going to depend upon how my mini league looks just before the deadline and injury updates.
I only have one free transfer, after my wasted experiment with Martinelli.
As I say above, I’m waiting for Rashford news. I could go straight back to him from Martinelli.
Alternatively, I’m tempted with Mahrez, who has huge upside, but is also very risky.
A more boring but probably good option would be moving Pinnock to Shaw
